Snow Leopard Tour - other mammals

On a Snow Leopard tour there are other mammals to see. In Hemis National Park in winter the main food for Snow Leopard is Blue Sheep (Bharial) and this is common. Red Fox is regular as is Hispid Hare. Royle's Pika can be found not far from camp and Mountain Weasel can be seen hunting for the pikas. Wolf has been seen recently but is not common.

Other mammals occur near Leh. Trips can be organised to look for Himalayan Ibex and Ladakh Urial although it is possible to see these whilst looking for Snow Leopard. Wolf is possible near Ulley. Argali is rarely seen and cannot be guaranteed.

Leh is the start point for other mammals that can be seen in Ladakh and these species can be looked for if requested - Summer Mammal and Bird Tour.
